Connecting via BLE

Trying to connect to my RVR using BLE from my Ubuntu 18.04 desktop. Did the following:

sudo hcitool lescan
LE Scan ...

7C:A1:5D:7B:44:50 GN
CF:D5:4A:57:73:73 RV-7373
CF:D5:4A:57:73:73 (unknown)
7C:A1:5D:7A:12:28 (unknown)
7C:A1:5D:7A:12:28 GN

sudo gatttool -I
[ ][LE]> connect CF:D5:4A:57:73:73
Attempting to connect to CF:D5:4A:57:73:73
Error: connect error: Connection refused (111)

Any suggestions?

Hello Rud!

Connecting to RVR BLE requires clearing some extra security steps.
Iā€™m not an expert in that domain, but I can ask the team to see if we would be willing to share that information.

Did something change in the firmware recently related to connecting? I have not updated my RVR lately, but mine connects to a custom built android app over ble without any special authentication.

Edit: I have not updated mine yet with the latest. Just was wondering if I would have to change code for it to connect to newer RVR firmware versions

Not that I know of, anything working already should still work great!
