Jetson Nano & RVR UART connection

Hi there,
I have managed to get the RVR running with a Jetson Nano with the help of some helpful community posts. Running really nicely but I just have a small niggling issue to do with the power on sequence.
When the Nano is running off the RVR battery via USB, the UART cable has to be unplugged first before powering on. Once the Nano is running, you can plug in the UART and everything works well. If the UART is plugged in while the RVR and Nano are powered on, there is no communication with the RVR.
There is no issue if the Nano is powered from a different source.

Has anyone found a way around this?

I’ve experienced this exact issue with a nodeMCU. A dev asked me to capture line voltages using a logic analyzer. Looks like the problem might be on the RVR’s end.

Thanks for the info. That makes sense now.

I’ve had issues with the Nano powering off during current peaks of the RVR, so sooner or later you’ll run into issues anyway when using built in power.
